A family location-sharing safety app
A mobile family-safety service for guardians and children to share location securely.

The service in context
Kidsmap is a family mobile service for guardians and children to share location and updates about their journeys. A family map connects current position with arrival and departure alerts and a daily movement record. The app brings together the trip between familiar places, a family member’s response, and a way to ask for help.
How people use it
Connect family members and places
Invite family members and save places such as home and school. These relationships and registered places provide the context for viewing the family map and receiving arrival and departure alerts.
Follow the map and daily journey
Guardians view a child’s position and review movement records over time. Journey-following and route views let more than one guardian follow the child’s movement together.
Respond to updates and request help
Families receive place-based arrival and departure updates and can respond through two-way communication. In an emergency, a child can use SOS to send their location to guardians.
Capabilities and implementation scope
Sharing built around family relationships
The app connects location sharing with family invitations and saved-place management. It distinguishes the guardian reviewing a location from the child sharing it, rather than presenting an anonymous tracking map.
Current position and movement history
The map provides a current view, while the daily record presents movement over time. Registered places, time spent at a place, and route maps explain different parts of the same journey.
From location to communication
Arrival alerts, journey-following, and SOS support different situations. Location and notifications depend on connectivity, battery, device settings, and the surrounding environment, which remain part of everyday use.
